October 28 marked the end of an impressive season for the Rams Junior and Senior girls’ basketball teams. Both teams have proved that their hard work and efforts have paid off after successful runs in the regular season.
The Senior girls team started off their last game against the Jean Vanier Jaguars with tight defense and sharp passes. The Rams were able to keep a close score in the beginning of the game, but eventually fell short to the Jaguars, with a final score of 34-11. As such, they finished seventh overall in their division. Regardless, the Lady Rams were proud of their efforts and the skills that they have developed with each passing game. Player Alanna Shwed said that the Senior Rams “started off as a new team, but the way the girls came together and were able to improve is incredible. We had a great season!”

“The girls were able to adapt well in order to work as a cohesive team,” explains Coach Ms Coda. “Their dedication allowed them to start off strong and rack up the score quickly.” The Junior team proved this through their final game against the Jean Vanier Jaguars. The Rams beat the Jaguars 40-23. From tip-off to the final buzzer, the girls dominated the game with strong drives, quick feet, and impressive shots each time they went up to the net. Their defense was just as strong, through blocking shots to intercepting passes. Their efforts were rewarded as the girls topped off the season second place in their division with six wins and a ticket to the playoffs. “As their coach,” beams Ms Coda, “I am truly proud of all the girls!”
Both of the teams’ countless hours of practice truly paid off. Ms Coda reiterates that “The girls’ dedication, discipline and commitment have contributed to their success this season. We all look forward to continued success in the coming playoffs and in our future endeavors.”
