Let it Snow (NightFlyers + Tremblant)
Chloe Ilagan, Staff Reporter
The weather outside may have been frightful, but the St Robert Night Flyers Ski Team was always eager to hit the slopes and unleash their inner Bode Miller and Mark McMorris. The record-breaking snowfall this winter meant for amazing ski conditions at Horseshoe Valley Resort for the Night Flyers. Also, later in the season a group of these talented skiers and snowboarders headed down to Mont Tremblant, Quebec for more skiing action.
Select Fridays in January and February, the Night Flyers, a dedicated group of students, travelled to Barrie. The students ranged from beginners who skied for their first time to experienced skiers who frequent the ski slopes every season. The group spent the evening skiing, snowboarding and their time relaxing in the chalet.
The last weekend of February, an experienced group of skiers from the Night Flyers team travelled to Mont Tremblant in Quebec. For four days, the students enjoyed the snow capped beauty of the quaint village of Mont Tremblant. They spent their time in the Laurentians skiing, snowboarding, tubing and exploring the village. Rares T. noted that “The weather was nice. I only got frostbite on two toes, and the powder was rad. Would I go again? I definitely would. This is the most fun I’ve ever had on a ski trip.”
All in all, this year’s ski season was a success. The team is looking forward to more ski outings in the future.
