the First Lego League tournament? In partnership with Lego Group, First® created a Robotics competition named the FLL, short for First Lego League. The First Lego League is a robotics contest meant for a younger age group, such as elementary students ranging from ages 9 through 14. Every year, focusing on a different issue concerning the world, the FLL designs the competition with the notion of having the students solve the problem creatively. Now with over 20,000 teams across the world and over 70 countries participating, FLL has expanded widely across the globe. Not only does FLL teach children about the fascinating functions of robots, but it also teaches students how to work with one an-

other. At St. Robert, the Robotics Team supports this type of education. Taking over St. Theresa’s tradition, St Robert has gladly accepted to host the competition in their place. If not for St. Robert, the teams in York Region would not have a competition to go to. With 20 teams attending, over 70 hard working volunteers, and many staff members including Mrs. Sarna, Mr. Keenan, Mr. Chirrey, Mrs. Koon, Mr. Lothian, Ms. Mastroianni, and many others, sacrificed their entire Saturday to create an eye-opening experience for the children of different elementary schools across the York Region. Not only was it a great experience for the children, but for the school, too! Go Rams Go!
